PM agrees on rice export resumption if food security is ensured
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed with a plan to resume the country's rice export but warned that national food security must be ensured amid the COVID-19 epidemic.
The export resumption must ensure no shortage of rice in any circumstances in the context of the corona virus outbreak, climate change and supply chain disruption while protecting farmers’ legitimate rights and interests. Vietnam will export 400,000 tons of rice in April, then update decisions will be made for rice export plan for May.
