At a government meeting on Friday, the Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies to make specific calculations to ensure safety. Detailed flight schedules must be reported to Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Binh Minh and Vu Duc Dam for decision making, Mr. Phuc said.
Prime Minister Phuc required that each flight have a specific prevention plan, including passenger arrangement at airports and quarantine venues. He said, “The Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, and Health, as well as provincial People's Committees are required to continue to prepare and well manage quarantine areas at military facilities and localities, fully implementing instructions to prevent epidemic from cross-infection and community infection. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City must have a plan to prepare hotels for quarantine far from the center and with a protective belt to quickly stamp out an outbreak if it occurs.”
The Prime Minister said that while Vietnam creates favorable conditions for foreign entries, the Ministry of Transport should continue working to increase flights for experts, investors and citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should direct the embassies to compile the list of unskilled and seasonal workers who are stuck in other countries, and propose appropriate plans to bring citizens back home, Prime Minister Phuc added.
