PM asks COVAX to quickly provide COVID-19 vaccines for Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday called on the COVAX Facility to allocate vaccines to Vietnam as fast and much as possible so that it can fulfill its commitment to providing 39 million doses to Vietnam in 2021.

During a teleconference with COVAX Facility Office Managing Director Aurélia Nguyen on Monday, Mr. Chinh asked COVAX to help connect and share information about countries that may have surplus vaccines or those that have been given but do not use vaccines immediately so that Vietnam can borrow or purchase.
The PM asked COVAX to help Vietnam enhance cooperation with international partners in vaccine and drug production and access sources of vaccines for people under 18.
Aurélia Nguyen hailed Vietnam’s achievements in the COVID-19 fight, stressing that Vietnam is one of a few developing nations that have made financial contributions to the COVAX Facility.
She said COVAX will allocate 85 million vaccine doses to countries around the world, including Vietnam, next month.
She said she believes that Vietnam will soon surmount the current difficult time.
