(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday requested greater efforts to speed up progress and complete construction of Tan Son Nhat Airport‘s Terminal 3 before April 30 next year, on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

Inspecting the key national project for the 4th time, the Prime Minister urged leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and relevant agencies to remove obstacles facing the project. He applauded the working spirit of officials and employees as they are working throughout Tet holidays.
Prime Minister Chinh urged contractors to rebuild the progress chart, mobilize equipment and human resources, and research and improve construction methods. He emphasized that there must be traffic connection between the terminal and the surrounding area and Long Thanh International Airport.
The 450 million USD terminal has a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year, 1 basement and 4 floors, 90 airline check-in counters, 27 aircraft gates, and 25 passenger security gates.
16 tower cranes are being mobilized for the construction site. At peak time, over 400 vehicles and equipment are deployed and nearly 1,400 engineers and workers work continuously to meet the progress schedule.
