(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has urged Can Tho to better tap its local potential in the areas of agriculture, fisheries production and tourism in order to boost local development. At a meeting with local authorities on Thursday, the Prime Minister asked the city to exert efforts to fulfill their socio-economic tasks for this year. “The leaders of Can Tho city need to focus on solving burning issues, especially in terms of tackling difficulties facing local enterprises. It’s necessary to assist enterprises in accessing capital, defer and reduce their taxes, streamline administrative procedures, promote trade and investment and expand export markets”, said PM Dung.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to pay more attention to new rural development, generating jobs and increasing incomes for farmers. In addition, he said, it was necessary to focus on culture, health care, education, social security, anti-corruption and fine tuning the state administrations at all levels.
