PM Nguyen Tan Dung visits HCMC flower street festival
(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hailed Ho Chi Minh City’s organization of the flower street festival that opened at Ham Nghi street in District 1 on Monday to welcome the lunar New Year festival. During his visit to the flower street on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dung highlighted the festival’s significance as an important entertainment venue for people in the city and nearby localities during the traditional New Year holiday.
The flower street, themed “Vietnamese Identity-Vietnamese Spirit” to greet the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet), sends out a message of Vietnamese people’s resilience and their efforts to preserve cultural identity and integrate actively into the globe.
Also on Monday, a book festival also opened to the public on Ham Nghi street, introducing 15,000 book titles featuring Ho Chi Minh City’s history, people and its integration process as well as Vietnam’s sea and islands.
The flower and book festivals will run until this weekend.
