PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets Russian President Vladimir Putin
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his official visit to Russia.

The two sides praised the development of bilateral trade, especially the implementation of the Vietnam-Eurasian Free Trade Agreement, and promised to lift trade barriers especially those concerning the products of fisheries. The two leaders said Vietnam and Russia still have great potential to boost cooperation to bring two-way trade to 10 billion USD by 2020. They stressed the importance of energy and oil and gas cooperation and agreed to create conditions for their businesses to further cooperation in oil and gas and promote the establishment of the Center for Nuclear Technology and Science Research.
The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern and pledged to work closely at multilateral forums. President Putin said Russia supports the peaceful settlement of all disputes in the East Sea in line with international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, the full implementation of the DOC and the swift finalization of the COC.
