(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday visited Yen Bai province to inspect the flood situation and oversee recovery efforts.

He expressed solidarity with the affected communities, urging functional forces to provide maximum support to the people and accelerate flood recovery.
The Prime Minister also visited Hoa Lan and Anh Duong kindergartens, which has provided shelter to over 170 people displaced by the floods.
The same day Prime Minister Chinh held an urgent meeting with local leaders and representatives of various ministries at the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee. Relief efforts for flood-affected areas continued throughout Thursday.
A delegation from the Voice of Vietnam, led Vice President Vu Hai Quang, brought essential supplies worth 8,600 USD to flood-hit areas in Yen Bai.
VOV Vice President Quang said: “Employees at the Voice of Vietnam are ready to contribute to help flood-hit people, some contributed more than a day’s salary. This is an irreplaceable loss. It’s important to mobilize the efforts of the government from the central to local levels, and Vietnamese people nationwide, overseas Vietnamese and international friends. VOV will continue to call for help from people nationwide as well as overseas Vietnamese and international friends.”
In Lao Cai, search and rescue teams, with the help of search dogs, continued efforts to find missing victims of a landslide in Lang Nu village, which is home to nearly 160 residents.
