On Thursday, the Prime Minister will attend a 2-day special ASEAN-US summit marking the 45th founding anniversary of relations between the two sides in Washington D.C at the invitation of US President Joe Biden.
This is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s first foreign trip since Vietnam contained the COVID-19 pandemic nationwide and fully reopened to implement the socio-economic recovery and development. The Prime Minister’s trip affirms Vietnam's consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, development, and being a reliable partner and active and responsible member of the international community. It reflects Vietnam’s role and responsibility in ASEAN in promoting the US-ASEAN ties..
