During Friday’s phone conversation to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation ahead of the 37^th ASEAN Summit, the Prime Minister asked Thailand to import more Vietnamese goods, restrict trade protection measures, encourage Thai retail groups to add more Vietnamese goods into their distribution systems to reduce Vietnam's trade deficit with Thailand.

The Prime Minister of Thailand announced his Government’s donation of 30,000 USD to help Vietnam overcome consequences of natural disasters.

Prime Minister Phuc expressed his wish that Thailand would soon be stabilized, continue to focus on socio-economic development and continuously improve Thailand's position regionally and globally.

Both agreed on strengthened coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums. They expressed satisfaction at the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The two Prime Ministers shared the importance of continuing to strengthen solidarity and maintaining ASEAN's common stance on the East Sea issue, while coordinating negotiations to achieve an effective, substantive Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC) in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, contributing to peace and stability in the region.
