(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on businesses to help Vietnam achieve 8% growth this year, paving the way for double-digit growth in the future.

PM Chinh made the remarks on Monday while chairing a meeting in Hanoi with executives of 26 major domestic businesses to discuss ways to boost the private sector and ensure rapid and sustainable national growth.
He highlighted businesses' contributions to the country’s economic success and reiterated the Government’s commitment to supporting the business community.
The Prime Minister encouraged businesses to get involved in major national projects like the North-South high-speed railway, standard-gauge railway connections with China, urban railways, nuclear power projects, science, technology, and space exploration.
PM Chinh said Government representatives will meet state-owned, private, and foreign-invested enterprises to hear their views.
