Prime Minister Chinh said: “In recent days we have prepared well for the typhoon. We now need to evaluate our preparation work and forecast, draw lessons, and quickly resolve the consequences of the storm. It’s important to ensure the safety of reservoirs and dams while protecting people’s lives and assets is our top priority. We should help local people quickly stabilize their lives and resume production and business.”
The Prime Minister asked localities to restore electricity and communications and clean the environment after the typhoon. People’s houses and public places such as schools and hospitals should be repaired quickly while agricultural production should be restored.
On Wednesday morning, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh visited Phu Vang district and Hue city of Thua Thien-Hue province.
“We have to urgently evaluate damages. Localities should quickly take measures to help people in typhoon-hit areas. Fallen trees that block streets should be removed to avoid traffic jams,” said Mr. Thanh.
By 10 am Wednesday typhoon Noru injured 4 people and destroyed more than 160 houses.
