Addressing a meeting of the National Committee for Digital Transformation in Hanoi on Thursday, PM Chinh affirmed that national digital transformation in 2023 was promoted across the board, yielding practical results. National Digital Data Year was implemented effectively and nearly 80% of the population had access to the internet. 

Reports delivered at the meeting said that the World Intellectual Property Organization ranked Vietnam 46th in the 2023 Global Innovation Index, up two places compared to 2022. The national digital transformation index rose by 48% after three years and the digital economy is growing at an average 20% a year.

Vietnam was among the top 10 countries in terms of the number of new mobile application downloads for two consecutive years 2022 and 2023.
