PM urges resources for landslide settlement in Mekong Delta
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc underlined the pressing need to focus resources on tackling climate change in the Mekong Delta in the wake of landslides along river banks, canals and seashores threatening the lives and property of local residents.

At a working session in Hanoi on Wednesday with representatives of Mekong Delta localities Mr. Phuc said that the Mekong Delta is a strategic region with more than 20 million residents. He urged relevant ministries to implement the Government Resolution on sustainable development for the Mekong Delta to cope with climate change. He also urged localities to adjust their planning of residential areas and production, along with stepping up cooperation with their regional countries in regulating water flows, especially during the dry season.
