(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday (local time) visited several tech giants in Silicon Valley as part of his trip to the US to attend the 78th UN General Assembly High-Level Week.

Visiting multinational technology corporation Nvidia, the PM asked the firm to consolidate its cooperation efforts and increase investments in Vietnam, particularly in sectors where the corporation excels and that is a priority for Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of offering suggestions, providing policy advice, supporting human resource training, and enhancing technological and administrative capabilities which bolster Vietnam’s deeper integration into the global supply chain.
PM Chinh expressed his hope that Nvidia will soon establish a manufacturing plant in Vietnam, positioning Vietnam as a strategic base in Southeast Asia. Jensen Huang, President of Nvidia, expressed a keen interest in strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in semiconductors, information technology, and artificial intelligence. It is anticipated that Vietnam can become a major production base for Nvidia.
Visiting Synopsys, an electronic design automation (EDA) company, PM Chinh said Vietnam always welcomes Synopsys to invest and conduct business operations, emphasizing Vietnam’s desire for Synopsys to expand its supply chain and production in Vietnam.
He said he hopes Synopsys will provide technological, managerial, and financial solutions that can boost Vietnam's development, and create favorable conditions to attract Vietnamese professionals to work for Synopsys in the US.

At a reception for politicians from cities in the San Francisco Bay Area led by Mayor Sheng Thao of Oakland, PM Chinh underscored Vietnam’s consistent policy of creating favorable conditions for foreigners and Vietnamese living abroad to do business in Vietnam.
He asked Mayor Thao and her delegation to encourage more individuals and businesses to visit Vietnam to increase people-to-people exchanges and expand investment opportunities between the two countries.
The PM emphasized that strengthening cooperation, sharing interests, and joining hands in national development are effective ways to advance the Vietnam-US comprehensive strategic partnership, and contribute to joint efforts to resolve war consequences.
