Leaders of those countries said they support full implementation of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), and hope the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) promoting European investment in Vietnam, particularly in new, high-tech and strategic fields, will soon be ratified.

Vietnam has promoted cooperation in those areas in which the three countries are strong to serve its national security and development goals.

Vietnam has promoted connectivity in logistics, attracted high-quality investment by the three countries in strategic infrastructure, and enhanced cooperation between ministries, local sectors, and businesses in water management and climate change response.

In each country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a business forum of government officials and leaders of 20 large corporations. Thirty cooperation agreements were signed.

Mr. Chinh said Vietnam always supports EU enterprises who invest or do business in Vietnam. He called on the EU to remove the ‘yellow card on Vietnamese fisheries and quickly ratify the EVIPA.

While in Belgium, the last leg of his European tour, PM Chinh met with Princess Astrid and Senate leader Stephanie D’Hose.

At the Vietnam-Belgium Business Forum, Mr. Chinh called on Belgian and European businesses to continue to diversify products, markets, and supply chains to promote efficient and sustainable production and business in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese delegation also participated in and contributed to the success of a commemorative summit marking the 45th anniversary of ASEAN-EU relations in Belgium.
