(VOVWORLD) - Poetry has contributed to the magnificent culture of the Vietnamese nation, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu has said at the Poetry Night "Country Harmony", the highlight of the Vietnamese Poetry Day 2024.

At the event in Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi on Saturday, poets representing 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam introduced masterpieces of Vietnamese ethnic folk literature, featuring the beauty and freedom of each individual and their ethnic groups.
Following the drum beat opening ceremony performed by Head of the Party Central Committee's Communications and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia, the Poetry Night officially began with various sections and topics - poetry and authors of ethnic groups in the northern mountain region, poetry and foreign authors, and poetry and authors from all other regions in Vietnam.
On the same day, activities in response to the Vietnam Poetry Day and in honor of the Vietnamese poetry were held in various localities nationwide.
