The event, chaired by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, focused on the draft political report to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, a draft report on some theoretical and practical issues of the socialist-oriented renewal process over the last 40 years, and some other issues to be considered at the upcoming Party Central Committee plenum.

Mr. To Lam emphasized that as the 14th National Party Congress is an important milestone in the course of national development, the political report holds great significance and must be of high quality, serve as a basis of orientations for other documents and the Party’s leadership in the next tenure, and lay the cornerstone for the coming years.

The Politburo basically agreed that review results of the 40 years of renewal form an important input for drafting documents for the 14th National Party Congress. Thus, the draft review report must continue to be completed quickly and systematically.

General Secretary and President To Lam asked the drafting bodies to consider opinions from the Politburo, the Secretariat, and related ministries and sectors to continue perfecting the documents to submit them to the coming Party Central Committee session.
