The Politburo and the Secretariat said Vietnam's macro-economy in the first six months of this year remained stable; inflation was under control; major balances were secured; public debt, government debt, and state budget deficit were well controlled. Economic growth reached 3.72% in the first six months.
The Politburo basically agreed on the main tasks and solutions for the remaining months of the year. It called for pursuance of stabilizing macro economy, controlling inflation according to the set target, promoting growth and ensuring major balances of the economy.
It’s imperative to closely monitor and accurately forecast the domestic and global developments, and have prompt policy reaction to arising situations. The program for socio-economic recovery and development must be implemented drastically and effectively.
Greater efforts are needed to better social security and social welfare, maintain independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, and intensify fight against corruption and negativity, according to the Politburo.
