(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly deputies on Wednesday discussed social welfare protection after the pandemic to boost social economic development.

Deputy Nguyen Thi Xuan from Dak Lak province hailed the correctness and necessity of raising regional minimum wage from July 1 as workers’ difficulties due to the pandemic and inflation must be addressed and the rise met aspiration of millions of employees nationwide.
Deputy Tran Van Sau from Dong Thap province asked for more government’s support policy to attract highly skilled workers in modern agriculture, especially in rapid, safe and sustainable development in the Mekong Delta’s agriculture.
Deputy Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa representing Hai Duong province called for more lenient policy for children affected by the pandemic.
"Infants should be cared in alternative family environment to ensure best living and development conditions. Urgent support policies have been issued and implemented alongside other permanent protective programs. The government and provincial authorities should provide more material and spiritual support for them to overcome the challenges," Thoa said.
Deputies asked for the inclusion of recreational and sport facilities in the building of new rural areas for child benefits.
