(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs on Monday held a press conference on preparations for the 10^th ASEAN Skills Competition to be held in Vietnam in October.

The Technical Committee of the Competition convened its first meeting on Monday, focusing on logistical preparations for the event.  The Competition is scheduled to draw 280 participants competing in 25 events.
Cao Van Sam, Deputy Director of the General Department of Vocational Training and Deputy Head of the organising board, said: “Vietnam will organize a national skills competition to select the best contestants for the 10^th ASEAN Skills Competition. The selected people will be trained at vocational centers and have a chance to practice in some enterprises. It aims to improve their skills and capacity to withstand the pressure of the competition.”

The Technical Committee will organize 2 more press conferences prior to the competition.
