(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, central inspection teams began inspecting and monitoring preparations for the elections of the NA and People’s Councils in Quang Ninh, Quang Ngai, and Quang Tri province.

In Quang Ninh, NA deputy chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, who is vice chairwoman of the National Electoral Council, praised the province’s selection and introduction of qualified candidates in accordance with election law.

Phong said “Quang Ninh should publicize the elections more and urge local people to participate on Election Day. Candidates should meet all age, gender, religion, and ethnicity criteria.”

In Quang Ngai, NA deputy chairman Huynh Ngoc Son asked the province to make lists of fishermen who are fishing offshore and figure out a way for them to cast their votes. Quang Ngai was encouraged to hold a consultative conference to ensure democracy, increase communications, and mobilize locals to vote.

A delegation of the NA Standing Committee and the National Electoral Council led by Dao Trong Thi, head of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, checked the election preparations in Quang Tri. Thi said the province should pay more attention to personnel, focusing on the percentage of female, non-Party member, and ethnic deputies.
