President calls for further legislative exchanges with Japan
(VOVWORLD) -President Tran Dai Quang has called on Japan’s House of Representatives to promote exchanges with Vietnam.

The President met with Speaker of the House Tadamori Oshima in Tokyo on Friday as part of his State visit to Japan. Mr. Quang said Vietnam treasures the extensive strategic partnership with Japan and regards the country as a leading and long-term partner. He expressed his hope for a more comprehensive and deeper relationship, for the sake of the two countries’ people, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development. Mr. Oshima said Japan’s parliament is ready to boost exchanges between Vietnamese and Japanese MPs, contributing to promoting an extensive strategic partnership in all fields.
The same day, at a reception for Shinichi Kitaoka, President the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), President Quang called for JICA’s efforts to increase Japan’s official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam, focusing on large-scale infrastructure projects and human resource training. He suggested that Japan support Vietnam in implementing its industrialization strategy within the Vietnam-Japan cooperation framework and developing human resources for the industry sector. President Quang also asked for support in
conducting a project to reform the apparatus of the political system towards effective and efficient operation, and mapping out long-term solutions to respond to climate change. Mr. Kitaoka pledged JICA’s greater efforts to forge closer ties between the two countries, focusing on added value in the industry sector, and climate change response policy, and a human resources training plan for Vietnam.
