(VOVWORLD) - 55 paintings by Vietnamese-Thai artist Dao Trong Ly depicting President Ho Chi Minh are now on display at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.

The exhibit which opened on Friday celebrates the 134th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, born on May 19, 1890. Nguyen Anh Minh is Director of the Museum said the paintings portray President Ho’s revolutionary career, from the early days of national salvation to significant milestones in Vietnam’s revolutionary history.
“They reflect Dao Trong Ly’s deep affection for the extraordinary yet simple leader in his everyday life, always filled with love for the people.”
Painter Dao Trong Ly was born in 1951 into a patriotic Vietnamese expatriate family in Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand. He currently serves as the Head of the Advisory Board of the General Association of Vietnamese Expatriates in Thailand.
After the exhibit, which will run until Wednesday, all the paintings will be donated to the Museum.
