President meets Chinese Politburo member Cai Qi
(VOVWORLD) - President Vo Van Thuong asked China to import more Vietnamese farm products, increase investment in major projects in Vietnam, and expand cooperation in road and railway connectivity.

During a meeting in Beijing on Thursday with Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Party Politburo, President Thuong called for further cooperation between the two countries in digital economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Mr. Thuong, who is in China for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, proposed that both sides appropriately control and solve pending differences and issues in bilateral ties in line with the UN Charter and international law.
Mr. Cai, who is also Secretary of the Chinese Party’s Secretariat, said China always views Vietnam as a high priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and will encourage Chinese businesses to expand investment in Vietnam.
