(VOVworld) - In his last press briefing this year, US President Barack Obama said he would discuss with the Congress the loosening of US embargo against Cuba.

He said the 54 year long embargo was doom to fail but it was not easy to get the Congress approval to remove the sanction. He expected changes in Cuba following the normalization of relations between the two countries, although they take place gradually. Cuban parliamentarians on Friday voted to approve President Raul Castro’s decision to re-establish diplomatic relations with the US.
