(VOVworld) - President of the National Assembly of France Claude Bartolone concluded his official visit to Vietnam on March 21. During the 4-day visit, the French legislative leader held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, paid a courtesy visit to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and met with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

He hosted a press conference at the French Embassy, attended the Francophone Day festival at the Hanoi University, worked with the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee, and visited some scenic spots in Vietnam.
During the talks and meetings, the two sides affirmed their resolve to do the best to elevate parliamentary ties between the two countries. Both agreed to increase the exchange of high level delegations and promote cooperation in transport, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, education, health care and training. They pledged to strengthen defence and security cooperation for peace and security.
