(VOVworld) - President of Japan's House of Councilors Yamazaki Masaaki will pay an official visit to Vietnam from December 7-10. Since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1973, Japan has become a top economic partner, the largest official donor, the second-largest foreign direct investor and the fourth-largest trading partner of Vietnam. Over the past two decades, Japan accounted for nearly 30% of 90 billion USD in total ODA given to Vietnam. Last year's two-way trade exceeded 27.6 billion USD and the figure hit 13.9 billion USD in the first half of this year.
