(VOVWORLD) - Russia dealt the decisive blow against terrorist forces that schemed to turn Syria into a base to attack other countries, including Russia, said President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

At a ceremony in Moscow to honor soldiers who fought in Syria, Putin said the Russian armyprevented Syria from losing the war against terrorism.
He vowed to permanently support families who lost loved ones in the Syria campaign.
