During Mr. Putin's visit on Wednesday and Thursday, leaders of both countries will discuss measures to boost economic and trade cooperation while advancing major cooperation projects, particularly in energy, industry, and agriculture, according to Ambassador Khoi.
Other topics will include orientation for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia until 2030, commitments to cooperation in global and regional issues, new momentum for cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy, as well as cooperation in culture, education, and tourism.
Ambassador Khoi expressed confidence that President Putin’s visit will serve as a significant landmark in the robust and sustainable development of the special relationship between the two countries.
On this occasion, foreign affairs analyst Grigory Trofimchuk wrote in Russian newspaper “Independence” that Vietnam stands out among Russia’s friendly partners and fruitful bilateral ties have stood the test of time.
As a comprehensive strategic partner of Russia, Vietnam holds a vital position in Russia’s “pivot to the East” policy. Closer cooperation between the two countries will contribute to stable development in Southeast Asia, an important international economic hub, he said.
