At the meeting, President To Lam expressed his gratitude to the Lao Party Central Committee, the State, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Lao Front for National Construction for sending condolences to Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, observing two days of national mourning, and particularly sending a high-level delegation led by President Sisoulith to attend the funeral.

Lam said this gesture showcased the deep affection, close bond, steadfast loyalty, and sharing between the two Parties, the two countries, and the two peoples.

President To Lam affirmed that in whatever position, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always prioritized, paid special attention to, and remained closely connected with the Lao revolution and the people of Laos. The President also discussed several areas of cooperation between the two sides, especially in Party building and economic connectivity.
