President Tran Dai Quang on official visit to Cuba
(VOVworld) – A high-level delegation led by Vietnam’s President Tran Dai Quang arrived in Havana on Tuesday to begin a 3-day official visit to Cuba.

The delegation met with Cuban leader Fidel Castro and the two sides reviewed significant milestones in relations between Vietnam and Cuba over the past 50 years and discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern. President Quang said the Vietnamese people will always remember and value the contributions of Fidel Castro to solidarity and comprehensive cooperation of the two countries over the last half century. He said Vietnam supports the revolutionary cause of the Cuban people and attaches great importance to reinforcing the special rapport that exists between the two nations.
Mr. Castro said the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to Cuba will deepen relations between the two countries.
On Wednesday, President Quang visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and talked with the Vietnamese community living and working in Cuba. He briefed them on Vietnam’s policies and guidelines, and the current political and economic situation. He said overseas Vietnamese communities are an indispensible part of the nation and urged the embassy staff to support the implementation of the two countries’ economic, trade and investment cooperation projects to propel the bilateral relations forward.
