(VOVworld)- President Tran Dai Quang has praised the outgoing Timor Leste Ambassador Jorge Trindade De Camoes for his contributions to strengthening bilateral ties.

At a meeting with the diplomat on Thursday, President Quang said Vietnam respected and wished to strengthen ties with Timor Leste. He urged the two countries to increase exchanges of delegations and people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and expand cooperation. He asked Timor Leste to quickly complete procedures to make the bilateral trade agreement signed in 2013 operational, accelerate negotiations on bilateral investment protection agreement, and implement a MOU on rice trade covering the period 2015-2017. Timor Leste’s Ambassador applauded the Vietnamese State and government for creating favorable conditions to boost people-to-people exchanges and encourage Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Timor Leste. He promised to continue to serve as a bridge for bilateral ties.
