President Tran Dai Quang’s Ethiopia visit to elevate bilateral ties
(VOVWORLD) - President Tran Dai Quang and his wife will visit Ethiopia from August 23 to 25. On this occasion, President Quang talked to Ethiopian reporters on the purpose and significance of his visit and orientations for cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Quang said this has been the first trip to Ethiopia by a Vietnamese head of state since the two countries established their diplomatic ties in 1976. He expressed his belief that the visit will provide momentum to advance bilateral ties to a new period of development to match the traditional relations between Vietnam and Ethiopia. The President reiterated that Vietnam treasures multifaceted cooperation with Ethiopia for the people’s benefits. He added that both countries have many opportunities to boost exports to each other market. Vietnam wants to export its agricultural produce, processed food, footwear, clothes, seafood, building materials, and rubber and wooden products to Ethiopia.
Asked about the potential of cooperation between Vietnam and African countries, President Quang said Vietnam has established diplomatic ties with 53 out of 55 African countries and these relationships have flourished. He expressed Vietnam’s willingness to connect the African Union and ASEAN, boosting bilateral cooperation and contributing to peace, cooperation, development, and prosperity.
