(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang left for Denmark on Wednesday for a 3-day state visit at the invitation of Danish Queen Margrethe II. A welcoming ceremony for President Sang was held at the international airport in Copenhagen. Queen Margrethe II expressed her delight to receive the Vietnamese President who is visiting Denmark for the first time. She said she hoped the visit would open cooperative prospects for both countries. President Sang thanked for the warm reception given to him by the Queen and Danish people, saying his visit continued to implement Vietnam’s foreign policy of self-reliance, multilaterlization and diversification of international relations. Vietnam attaches importance to strengthening its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Denmark, focusing on furthering their strategic partnership in climate change and comprehensive cooperation in the interests of the two peoples for stability, cooperation and development regionally and globally.

Amidst the rapid development of Vietnamese-Danish cooperation over the past 40 years, President Sang’s visit to Denmark aims to strengthen the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries on the basis of long-term stability and mutual benefit.
