(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang has reviewed Hai Phong City’s socio economic development, national security and defense.

Speaking with leaders in Bach Long Vi island on Monday, the President hailed the island’s important role in national defense and security, especially in national sovereignty protection and maritime economy.

The President presented gifts to the local fishermen

He called for more resources to develop fisheries industry, search and rescue services for fishermen in the north as well as foreign ships seeking for shelters. In his meeting with local military forces, he urged the regional command to modernize military equipment to successfully defend the country and foster national construction.
