(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang over the past two days has inspected the implementation of socio-economic development and national security tasks in Quang Tri province.

The President offered incense at the Martyrs’ Monument in Quang Tri ancient citadel, visited Vinh Thach commune in Vinh Linh district and Con Co district.

At a meeting with local authorities, President Truong Tan Sang stressed the importance of tapping local potential in agriculture, the processing industry, trade and tourism to boost local development, improve people’s lives and ensure national security. President Sang said:“Quang Tri province has set a bright example in new rural development. The province needs to bring into play its achievements to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives”.

The President asked the province to pay more attention to the Lao Bao Border Economic Zone and its role in the East-West Economic Corridor. To mark the Mid-Autumn festival, the President presented gifts to local disadvantaged children.
