(VOVworld)- On Saturday, President Truong Tan Sang and his wife concluded a 3-day state visit to Mozambique.

Earlier, President Sang met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Mozambique. The President visited the Movitel Telecommunications Company, which is a joint venture between Viettel and Mozambique. On that day, President Sang and President Filipe Nyusi attended the Vietnam-Mozambique Business Forum. In his address, President Filipe Nyusi promised to create the best conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to do business in Mozambique. President Sang urged the two countries’ businesses to further exchange information and seek cooperative opportunities. He said he believed Vietnam would become one of Mozambique’s 10 leading partners:“In its foreign policy, Vietnam respects its ties with Mozambique as a key partner in Africa. In Africa’s Look East policy, Vietnam is also a reliable partner, a large market, and a gateway to the ASEAN Economic Community. The two countries enjoy great potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation. Mozambique is a large potential market with political stability and multiple investment incentives promising numerous opportunities for Vietnam to expand its investment in agriculture, fisheries, production, electronic telecommunications, trade, oil and gas, transport, and tourism. With all these advantages, I believe that trade and economic cooperation between the two countries will grow further in the near future”

At the forum, the two Presidents witnessed the signing of an MOU on information exchanges between the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Private Businesses and the Center for Investment Promotion of Mozambique.
On that day, President Sang visited the headquarters of the Mozambique Liberation Front FRELIMO and met with Party Secretary Eliseu Machava. the Vietnamese leader briefed his host about the outcomes of the 12 th National Party Congress. He called on the two countries to maintain close cooperation and said he believed that under the sound leadership of the Frelimo Party, Mozambique will reap more successes throughout the nation’s development, fostering the traditional friendship between the two Parties and peoples.
Machava, for his part, said Frelimo appreciates and always does its best to solidify its long-standing ties with Vietnam. He thanked Vietnam for sharing experiences with Frelimo in Party-building and personnel training. A number of Party members who took training courses in Vietnam ascended to high ranks in the Party.
