President Vo Van Thuong receives Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia

(VOVWORLD) - On Sunday, President Vo Van Thuong received Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun, who is on a visit to Vietnam to attending the 45th anniversary of the victory of the war to protect Vietnam's southwestern border and together with the Cambodian army and people to defeat the genocidal regime (January 7, 1979 - January 7, 2024).

At the meeting, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam always values the good traditional friendship with Cambodia and remembers the support of the Cambodian people in the past national liberation struggles as well as in the current national construction and development.
President Thuong highlighted the comprehensive development of cooperation between the two countries in all fields with bilateral trade turnover reaching 10 billion USD, saying it is the basis to further bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
The Vietnamese President said defense and security cooperation continues to be a pillar in the two countries' relationship while people-to-people exchanges, especially in border areas, have been strengthened with diverse activities. The two countries have initiated several cooperation mechanisms across channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and other organizations.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Neth Savoeun said during the visit, the Cambodian delegation worked with a number of Vietnamese authorities, thereby promoting the implementation of cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.
