Presidents of Vietnam and Seychelles hold talks

(VOVworld) – An official welcoming ceremony for the visiting Seychelles President James Alix Michel was held on Hanoi on Wednesday. Later, talks were held between the President and Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the encouraging development of multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries with the Seychelles being the largest African investor in Vietnam. Both leaders agreed to take aggressive measures to utilize their potentials in the areas of investment, tourism agriculture, fishing, oil, gas and renewable energy. President Sang thanked the Seychelles Government for recognizing Vietnam’s market economy, considering it an important contribution to the traditional friendship and mutual support between the two countries. Both Presidents exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual concerns, focusing on information exchange and strengthened coordination in the international forums for peace, stability, cooperation and development. Both leaders agreed to issue a joint statement once the Seychelles President concludes his visit to Vietnam.

After their talks, President Sang and President Michel witnessed the signing of 5 cooperative agreements in diplomacy, aviation, tourism, trade and Hanoi to be twinned with Victoria as sister cities.
