The top legislator met with press agencies on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year and voting on top events of the Vietnamese National Assembly in 2023.

He said that among the overall achievements of the National Assembly this year, there is an important contribution from news agencies.

“The press continues to promote its role as an important bridge, connecting the National Assembly with the People and voters nationwide, helping the Assembly better perform its role as the highest representative body of the People and the highest authority of the State.”

The NA Chairman expressed his hope that the press will continue to create strong breakthroughs in policy communication, saying the National Assembly is committed to creating all conditions for the press’s operation.

He asked the Ministry of Information and Communications to soon propose adjustments to the Press Law to better meet the needs of modern journalism amid world breakthroughs in communication technology and social networks, as well as major challenges facing journalism economics, cross-border data management or information security.
