(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press’s constant growth after 97 years of its establishment and development as he met media agencies’ leaders in Hanoi on Friday in anticipation of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

Chairing a meeting with leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Voice of Vietnam and other media agencies, PM Chinh praised journalists for braving difficulties, joining in the front lines and hot spots of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years.
He said he hopes that the press will continue to provide accurate, objective, honest, and timely information on the guidelines and policies of the Party and State, serve as a forum to express thoughts, the will and aspirations of the people, fight against false and malicious information, and spread good stories, good examples.
In particular, the press must be a sharp weapon in the fight against corruption, misconduct, and wastefulness, which the Party is carrying out drastically, comprehensively, and effectively, he said.
