Press, publishers must unmask hostile plots to protect Party ideological foundation, says workshop
(VOVWORLD) -Press agencies and publishers must be a vanguard force, actively fighting, unmasking the enemy's plots, wrongdoings and hostilities to protect the ideological foundation of the Party, according to a workshop held in Hanoi on Friday.

The event organizers were the Truth National Political Publishing House and the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Huy Phuong addressed the workshop, saying “Fight and oppose wrong and hostile views in the new situation, the Vietnamese revolutionary press must clearly demonstrate its roles, missions and responsibilities by performing well such functions as information, communication, thought, supervision, and social criticism.”
“The revolutionary press must ensure the principles of correct operation, truthfulness, democratic objectivity, publicity and humanity. Simultaneously, they must strictly comply with the Party's regulations, the State's laws and work ethics, social responsibilities and civic obligations in professional activities,” he added.
Participants stressed the need to identify the plots of hostile forces against the ideological foundation of the Party in social life and in cyberspace; analyzed the press’s role of providing official information to deal with misinformation on social networks and those who take advantage of sensitive issues such as ethnicity, religion, and epidemics to sabotage the Party and State of Vietnam.
