Prime Minister calls for Thai investment into Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended a forum to forge Vietnam-Thailand economic cooperation in Bangkok on Friday.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Juntong was among the attendants, who represented over 500 businesses from the two countries. Prime Minister Phuc informed Thai investors of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements during a 30-year renewal course, including stable macro-economy, high growth, and an improved investment climate towards creating favorable conditions for investors. He praised Thailand for its 470 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth over 8 billion USD in Vietnam. Prime Minister Phuc said: “We have made progress in economic development, but there remains much potential to be tapped. During this official visit, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and I as well as cabinet members of Vietnam and Thailand will speed up comprehensive investment cooperation between two countries. A best possible environment for investors should be created for co-development.”
At the forum, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Thai Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Juntong witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements between the two countries in power, hi-tech agriculture, goods distribution, sales of farm produce, and construction.
