(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on Thursday chaired a national meeting on planning and investment in central Da Nang City.

Delegates discussed the implementation of government Directives on socio-economic development plan and mid-term public investment plan until 2020. A new decree on medium-term and annual public investment and key provisions of  the Law on Public Investment and the revised Bidding Law are also high on the agenda.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh called for practical comments on the discussion topics to promote growth and enhance the national economic competitiveness while reaching a consensus on a GDP calculation formula. "Provinces are compiling political reports and 5-year development plans to prepare for the Party congress at the local level. Functional agencies are working on the general contents of the national Party Congress in 2015 and a socio-economic development plan ranging from 2016-2020." said Vinh.
