(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on Wednesday left Hanoi for a three-day official visit to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

This will be Prime Minister Chinh's first visit to Singapore and Brunei and the first visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Singapore after 5 years and to Brunei after 15 years.
The visit will create a strong impetus to further the Strategic Partnership with Singapore, one of Vietnam's leading economic partners, and the Comprehensive Partnership with Brunei, Vietnam’s potential economic partner.
As for Singapore, the visit is the opening event for the two countries' 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and 10 years of their Strategic Partnership (2013 - 2023).
