Prime Minister praises women's role in ASEAN Community
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised women's contributions to ASEAN's development and prosperity.

The Prime Minister was addressing the opening of the third ASEAN ministerial meeting on women in Hanoi on Thursday, which aimed to foster cooperation in ensuring gender equality and increasing female empowerment in the region. Prime Minister Phuc said: “Women should be equipped with new set of skills through life-long learning given career changes in the 4th Industrial Revolution. It’s important to ensure job stability for all without discrimination against women. Social welfare for women and children should be improved through legal and institutional improvement. I applaud the ASEAN women ministers and officials for their efforts to promote gender equality and women empowerment.”
Themed “Social Security for Women and Girls Towards ASEAN’s 2025 Vision”, ministers at the event will discuss regional and global measures to ensure social welfare for women and girls towards realising the ASEAN declaration on enhancing social security.
