Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said the two-week social distancing in Vietnam’s economic center from July 9 is the right decision, at the right time, and in the right place. He praised Ho Chi Minh City for performing the dual task of fighting pandemic and developing economy.
Prime Minister Chinh asked the city to capitalize on achievements and dissect the causes of limitations. Priorities must be given to taking care of people's lives, preventing people from lacking food and clothing, and minimizing deaths. The city needs to give equal access to vaccines to all residents and help people in difficulty, those who lost their jobs, and the homeless, he said.
The Prime Minister noted that the current anti-pandemic work is unprecedented, so it must be done while continuously learning from experience.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the field hospital for COVID-19 treatment at Thu Thiem resettlement area, Thu Duc city. There, in addition to field hospital No.3 which has already been in operation since July 7, other hospitals with a combined capacity of 18,000 beds were put in use on Sunday.
