(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung worked with the Vietnam Journalists’ Association on Tuesday to reflect its performance and find ways to enhance its role in society and national defense.

Prime Minister Dung praised the association’s activities in recent years and requested that the association strive to improve its performance in the new era. He said: “With 20,000 members, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association is a professional political and social organization with an important role in creating social consensus. The Association should continue to work more closely with the Party Central Committee’s Commission on Education and Communication and the Ministry of Information and Communication in steering media activities, contributing to the safeguarding of national defense.”

Prime Minister Dung also asked the Association to increase training for its affiliates and to better implement the code of media ethics.
