A member of the Vietnam Buddhist Shangha’s Management Board, Venerable Chau Hoai Thai, said: "It’s necessary to set up certain criteria for people to be acknowledged as prestigious and influential ethnic minority people in their regions. They should have experiences in working with people and be able to unite them. It’s also important that the Fatherland Front organizes regular meetings with these people so that they understand well the party and state policies to effectively impart to their fellows.".
There are 52 ethnic minorities living in Ho Chi Minh City. The City’s Fatherland Front Committee has generated jobs for more than 1000 people, and built charity houses for 1600 households over the past year.
